Original Posting: June 30, 2008Each day I take a little time to listen to various music selections that I find soothing and inspirational. Last night as I was listening I began sorting some of my cd's to get them into some sort of order according to type. I came across one of my favorite songs and haven't been able to stop listening to it ever since. Mi Mancherai by Josh Groban. You may have heard it in M. Night Shyamalan's Lady in the Water.
I hope you will find Mi Mancherai to be as beautiful as I do. Songs come and go, but when they return there is a special meaning attached that can emotionally charge the heart in a way it didn't the first time. Mi Mancherai is one such song for me. It shadows this moment in life of two special and cherished friends that I hold dear.
It is sung in Italian. I've included the translation for those who are unfamiliar with the romance of the Italian language. Mi Mancherai means " I'll Miss You." It's my feeling that it is best sung in Italian and would lose passion if sung in English. The strings are gentle, he sings, the strings echo ~ beautiful ~ but please be prepared to shed a tear. My eyes haven't stopped. Soon.
