Something Good Coming

If you like Heartland rock then you're in for a treat because Tom Petty has something good coming. Those who aren't familiar with 'heartland rock, it is a genre of rock music that was very popular in the late 1970s and 1980s. It was characterized by a straightforward musical style, a concern with the average, blue collar American life, and a conviction that rock music has a social or communal purpose beyond just entertainment.
It's been a long time coming, but it seems as if Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have 'something good coming.' Their first album in eight years -- appropriately entitled 'Mojo' - set to be released June 15th. I stumbled across the video tonight while searching for something else. I liked it. Couldn't post it to the blog so you'll have to travel HERE in order to hear it. The Petty tour kicks off in Oakland, Calif. on June 5....maybe a good reason to head to the west coast.
